A solution O-17-NMR approach for observing an oxidized cysteine residue in Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase

[摘要]Solution O-17-NMR application to biological macromolecules is extremely limited. We describe here O-17-NMR observation of the O-17(2)-oxidized cysteine side chain of human Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase in solution using selective O-17(2) oxidation. O-17-NMR with the aid of O-17-labeling has wide potential to probe the environment and dynamics of oxidizable functionalities in proteins.
