Transfer of Fe:ZnSe laser radiation by hollow waveguide

[摘要]A special type of cyclic olefin polymer coated silver hollow glass waveguide with 700 mu m inner diameter was utilized for original transfer of mid-infrared Fe:ZnSe laser radiation generating at 4.45 mu m. This laser system was pumped by electro-optically Q-switched 2.94 mu m Er:YAG laser radiation. For 1.1 mJ Fe:ZnSe laser energy with pulse duration 300 ns, the waveguide transmission of 4.45 mu m radiation reached up to 64%. Bent waveguide showed the transmission decrease to 60%.
