[摘要]：An efficient and concise synthesis of valacyclovir hydrochloride (4), which is a prodrug of acyclovir (3) is described. The synthesis was accomplished in two stages by coupling acyclovir with (2S)-2-azido-3-methylbutanoic acid followed by reduction (Scheme 2).
