[摘要]Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder related to abnormal and unpleasant sensations and movements in the legs. It usually occurs at nighttime and thus has a detrimental impact on the ability to steep, leading to poor patient quality of life. UCB has been developing rotigotine transdermal patch system (Neuprol (R); SPM-962) as a treatment for RLS. This system is designed to replace levels of dopamine in the body via once-doily application of the patch, in a bid to restore proper motor functioning. The rotigotine patch has been authorized for the treatment of RLS since August 2008.
