Preparation of millimetre-sized mesoporous carbon spheres as an effective bilirubin adsorbent and their blood compatibility

[摘要]Millimetre-sized mesoporous carbon spheres (MMCSs) with smooth surface and penetrating mesoporous channels have been successfully prepared by an emulsion-EISA technique, and are found to be a much better bilirubin adsorbent than commercial activated carbon spheres. Hemolysis and coagulation assays of MMCSs indicate that they have negligible hemolysis effect and do not induce blood coagulation.
