[摘要]:This study reports on an air quality investigation carried out in the city of Tunis (a North African coastal town) during the period starting in October 2003 and ending in December 2003. It investigates the diurnal gaseous and particulate pollution in the vicinity of "Bab saadoun" one of the most heavily trafficked cross-roads in the city of Tunis. The average age concentrations under investigation exhibited soinv peculiarities stemming mainly from the general customs of the local population and from specific meteorological situations (anticyclones, cyclones with deep movement) pertaining to ozone levels. These peculiarities were taken into consideration and are elaborated on the present article. (C) 2008 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Environ Prog, 28: 143-154, 2009
