Facile route to supramolecular structures: self-assembly of dendrimers and naphthalene dicarboxylic acids.

[摘要]：Supramol. structures with cylindrical and spherical shapes can be formed by electrostatically driven self-assembly of cationic dendrimers and oppositely charged small divalent org. ions in methanol. The counterion not only controls the morphol. of the nano-sized assembly, but also provides functionality, such as fluorescence. This approach may lead to versatile functional supramol. architectures.
