Phosphite-Mediated Synthesis of Benzimidazoles: A One-Pot Four-Component Approach from Nitrophenols

[摘要]：Benzimidazoles may be formed in high yield through the phosphite-triggered reductive cyclization of o-nitroaniline derivatives. This reaction was used for the one-pot synthesis of benzimidazoles from o-nitrophenols and isocyanides. The mechanism is discussed in relation with nitroso intermediates.
