A convenient synthesis of 2-alkyl-2-methyltetrahydrofurans from 4-methylalk-4-en-1-ols catalyzed by iodine

[摘要]：Cyclization of 4-methylalk-4-en-1-ols in the presence of a catalytic amount of iodine in dichloromethane gave exclusively 2-alkyl-2-methyltetrahydrofurans under mild conditions in high yields.
