Streamlined Access to Functionalized Chromenes and Quinolines using Domino Reactions of Salicylic Aldehydes and Methyl 4-Chloro-2-butynoate

[摘要]：Methyl 4-chloro-2-butynoate was used in a modified Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction with salicylic aldehydes. The chlorine atom in the alkynoate moiety allows its efficient isomerization to the corresponding allene, and remains in the adduct as a reactive site. Further one-pot derivatization leads to a variety of substituted chromenes and guinolines
