Inhibition of NF-kappa B activation by penicillic acid and dihydropenicillic acid isolated from fungi.

[摘要]：In the course of our screening of NF-kB inhibitors from microbial secondary metabolites, we isolated two 2(5H)-furanones, penicillic acid and dihydropenicillic acid, from the culture filtrate of Penicillium. Both penicillic acids inhibited LPS-induced NO prodn. and NF-kB activation. They did not inhibit protein synthesis. Interestingly, penicillic acid inhibited advanced glycation end product (AGE)-induced NO prodn.
