[摘要]：The sulfone analogue of the selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor flosulide (1) has been prepared in an eight step synthesis. A key step involves a thiol conjugate addition reaction followed by nucleophilic aromatic substitution to form the dihydrobenzothiophene ring system.
